Delmar, NY | Mid-Century Kitchen Revival
This renovation went far beyond cosmetic updates. We removed dated cabinetry that blocked natural light, raised and rebuilt the breakfast bar, installed new countertops and a new oven, upgraded wiring throughout, and ran fresh PEX plumbing where needed. New tile flooring replaced worn carpeting, while updated lighting—including a restored mid-century modern fixture above the breakfast nook, recessed bar lighting, and a new ceiling fan fixture in the kitchen—created a warmer and more inviting atmosphere.
We also removed an underutilized built-in desk, repaired and refinished the surrounding walls, and incorporated a salvaged hardwood furniture piece as a custom built-in bookcase. After careful restoration, modification, and installation, the piece became a unique focal point that adds both character and storage. Fresh paint, repaired finishes, updated electrical work, and countless small details helped transform a dated and inefficient space into a brighter, more functional kitchen designed for gathering, cooking, and everyday life.
